If the eyes are the window to the soul
Why can’t I look into yours?
Why does it make me uncomfortable
To see the scars on your heart?
Is it because I caused them?
By simply avoiding your eyes I allow
The entrance of pain, hunger, judgment, hate
The forces of the world which rip apart humanity.
There is such power in eternity.
The knowledge that by simply gazing,
And opening up your heart,
I will affect you.
You will change me.
In one moment, a crucible experience,
Knowing we are not so different after all.
Our eyes connect and prophets explode…
Caling out Power fueled by Love.
We both know what will happen
If we allow the melding of our humanity.
And we are fearful.
Sometimes mediocrity seems safer than change.
So we allow it…
Fathers beat their children
We hit a button and a city crumbles
We build mansions while children’s bellies grumble
We fear one night alone
While she fears he might come home.
We bomb, we buy, we kill, they die.
And still I ask, why can’t I look into your eyes?
What others have said
